Aircraft Electrician performs preventative and non-routine maintenance and inspections of aircraft avionics and electrical systems. Uses manufacturer's reference documents, diagrams, and best practices to troubleshoot problems, identify the correct solutions and replace or repair components and parts. Being an Aircraft Electrician conducts quality testing, verification procedures, and required documentation of all completed work. Ensures compliance with all FAA maintenance regulations and requirements. Additionally, Aircraft Electrician typically requires an associate degree in aviation electronics, avionics or equivalent. Requires Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Aircraft Electrician works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function. Has gained proficiency in multiple competencies relevant to the job.     Your role:

    Technician will support various test ranges across RTC.  Support will concern upgrades and modernization of range capabilities.  In addition, the technician will support testing and reside primarily at RTC’s TA-5 Propulsion Test Division.

     

    What you’ll do all day:

    • Technician will be required to provide electrician support for operations in and around Test Stand/fixtures; Operate and maintain equipment for test support
    • The technician will work as a team member required to plan, setup, install, troubleshoot/maintain range electrical and fiber lines, Support senior engineers and technicians during test operations on local test ranges as well as CONUS travel missions on other DoD test ranges.

    Minimum requirements for this position:

    • 7 years of applicable experience supporting engineering, design, or testing of hardware in the appropriate area of specialization; or 3 years of applicable college/vocational/military/technical school and 4 years of applicable experience in the assigned specialty area.
    • Instrumentation – Experience must include successful completion of sixteen (16) weeks of civilian or military training in electronics or basic instrumentation techniques and a minimum of 4 years of experience in electronics/instrumentation supporting engineering or testing of military hardware.
    • HS Diploma/Associate Degree
    • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance (U.S. Citizenship is required for all applicants)
