Aircraft Electrician performs preventative and non-routine maintenance and inspections of aircraft avionics and electrical systems. Uses manufacturer's reference documents, diagrams, and best practices to troubleshoot problems, identify the correct solutions and replace or repair components and parts. Being an Aircraft Electrician conducts quality testing, verification procedures, and required documentation of all completed work. Ensures compliance with all FAA maintenance regulations and requirements. Additionally, Aircraft Electrician typically requires an associate degree in aviation electronics, avionics or equivalent. Requires Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. POSITION SUMMARY:
The electrician works primarily with other trades people in a predominantly residential setting. Tasks vary widely and may include home wiring diagnostics and repairs; panel replacement; remodeling projects; as well as advising and consulting others within your areas of expertise. Must be a team player, have a good attitude, be highly motivated and have a good work ethic.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Operate a company vehicle to run installation jobs for customer needs.
Perform duties as assigned to include, but not limited to, basic HVAC and electrical tasks
Ability to recommend, project manage, and complete any residential electrical repair from outlets and light switches to panel upgrades and wiring for generator installs/transfer switches.
Operate machinery
Perform appropriate communication with co-workers and customers
Evaluate situations and take proper corrective action
Ability to perform basic math computations needed in the trade
Ability to recognize the importance of safety in the workplace, follow safety rules, practice safe work habits, utilize appropriate safety equipment and report unsafe conditions to the appropriate administrator
Knowledge of trade related tools needed for job applying
Other duties as assigned by manager
MINIMUM / PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
Minimum 3 years experience specific to electrical industry
Thorough knowledge of the theory, methods, practices, tools, and equipment of the trade, with a strong focus on the residential side.
Ability to read, understand, and work from specifications and drawings.
Ability to bend, stoop, reach, or stand, lift, and move heavy objects.
Journeyman/Master license required.
Travel may be required
Operating knowledge and working proficiency with hand-held computer (i.e., smartphone, tablet).
Valid Drivers License with a clean driving record is required
