Aircraft Electrician performs preventative and non-routine maintenance and inspections of aircraft avionics and electrical systems. Uses manufacturer's reference documents, diagrams, and best practices to troubleshoot problems, identify the correct solutions and replace or repair components and parts. Being an Aircraft Electrician conducts quality testing, verification procedures, and required documentation of all completed work. Ensures compliance with all FAA maintenance regulations and requirements. Additionally, Aircraft Electrician typically requires an associate degree in aviation electronics, avionics or equivalent. Requires Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Aircraft Electrician works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function. Has gained proficiency in multiple competencies relevant to the job. We are seeking an Electrician / Mechanic to work at our Viking Energy of McBain Power Station, an 18MW wood-fired power generation facility. Responsible for installing, maintaining, testing and repairing facility electrical equipment, control circuits and devices, in most cases without direct supervision as well as proper maintenance and operation of complex systems and equipment that can directly affect the safety and operation of the Facility.
DUTIES, TASKS, AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
POSITION-SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES:
May be assigned further responsibilities including, but not limited to, housekeeping and administrative items as deemed appropriate by the Maintenance Manager Develop and fabricate special tooling, rigging equipment and replacement parts for plant equipment as required. Perform any combination of the following duties in welding, brazing, cutting, thermal and arc cutting/welding as required.

Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally; communication skills are essential. Must be able to personally respond to plant emergencies. Must be physically capable of climbing stairs and ladders.
