Aircraft Electrician performs preventative and non-routine maintenance and inspections of aircraft avionics and electrical systems. Uses manufacturer's reference documents, diagrams, and best practices to troubleshoot problems, identify the correct solutions and replace or repair components and parts. Being an Aircraft Electrician conducts quality testing, verification procedures, and required documentation of all completed work. Ensures compliance with all FAA maintenance regulations and requirements. Additionally, Aircraft Electrician typically requires an associate degree in aviation electronics, avionics or equivalent. Requires Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Aircraft Electrician works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function. Has gained proficiency in multiple competencies relevant to the job. The electrician installs, maintains, and repairs electrical systems in commercial, industrial and healthcare facilities.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Accurately install wire, conduit, panel boards, fixtures, devices, pre-fab assemblies, boxes, and breakers according to job specifications and NEC
Directly work with other electricians and helpers as part of a team
Install electrical distribution and automation equipment: switchgear, panels, transformers, PLC control cabinets and VFD’s
Proficient with circuitry of the trade to include power, control, and motor terminations
Bend conduit by hand and with benders
Capable of digging trenches, either by use of hand tools or power equipment

Qualifications and Requirements:

Requires the ability to read and understand instructions, procedures, labels, and gauges
Accurately perform basic math calculations to include addition, subtraction, fractions, decimals, multiplication, division, and the use of measurements
Ability to communicate effectively (written, verbal and nonverbal)
Requires self-motivation, organization, and prioritization management
Proficient knowledge of OSHA standards and guidelines
High School Diploma or equivalent is required, but a technical degree or 1-3 years of experience or combination of education and/or experience is preferred

In performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. This position is performed in outside weather conditions.
