Aircraft Electrician performs preventative and non-routine maintenance and inspections of aircraft avionics and electrical systems. Uses manufacturer's reference documents, diagrams, and best practices to troubleshoot problems, identify the correct solutions and replace or repair components and parts. Being an Aircraft Electrician conducts quality testing, verification procedures, and required documentation of all completed work. Ensures compliance with all FAA maintenance regulations and requirements. Additionally, Aircraft Electrician typically requires an associate degree in aviation electronics, avionics or equivalent. Requires Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Aircraft Electrician works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function. Has gained proficiency in multiple competencies relevant to the job.     Journeyperson Electrician

    As a qualified Journeyperson Electrician, you will perform repairs of existing electric meter boxes as well as Overhead and Underground services. Install electric meters and assume responsibility for the safe operation of a company vehicle, equipment, and tools. In addition, you will learn how to utilize the computer system to plan and complete your daily work.

    Pay: $25.00 – $45.00 an Hour

    Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

    • Installation and or repair of 60, 100, 200, 320-amp residential services.
    • Overhead and underground electrical power lines and systems.
    • Troubleshooting and identification of electrical hazards.
    • Perform change out of existing electric utility meters.
    • Assume responsibility for the safe operation of a company vehicle, equipment, and tools.
    • Commitment to customer service and responding to the needs of internal and external customers professionally.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Must be 18 years of age or older.
    • Prior residential, commercial and or industrial electrical experience - repair/installation.
    • Knowledge and experience with various residential/commercial meter boards. i.e.: single gang ringless/ringed, multi, split board, bypass type, bussed meter board, underground type, etc.
    • Comfortable with and Able to work on a ladder at elevated heights safely of 4 to 24 feet.
    • Ability to perform meter replacement of self-contained single and polyphase meters such as:
        • Forms: 1, 2, 12, 14, 15, 16
        • Classes: 100, 200, 320
        • Voltage: 120, 208, 240, 277, 480
        • Meter configuration will include both socket and “A” base.
    • Computer and smartphone literate.
    • Ability to read maps and navigate in congested areas.
    • Independently manage time and workload to meet deadlines.
    • This is a minimum 40-hour workweek. Must have endurance necessary to perform these duties throughout a standard eight (8) or ten (10) hour day according to the schedule.
    • Must be able to work long hours and overtime during holidays, emergencies, weekends, etc. Subject to call out work.

    Education & Experience:

    • Complete understanding of electrical A/C theory.
    • Knowledge of current N.E.C. codes.
    • High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
    • Mechanical and/or electrical experience preferred.
    • Experience in the use of hand and power tools.

    Pre-Screen:

    • Upon offer, employees may be required to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen, background, and/or MVR check.

    License & Certifications:

    • Driver's License Required.
    • 3 years of driving experience with minimal non-moving violations.
    • Journeyman electrician certification.

    Physical Requirements:

    • Capable of lifting 10-60 pounds while walking on various uneven terrain.
    • Bucket weight limit capacity is 300 pounds.
    • Rare: (less than 10%): depth-perception, color-vision, crawling, pushing, pulling, seeing distance, balancing, gripping.
    • Occasional: (up to 33%): stooping, kneeling, squatting, body-twisting, sense-of-touch, manual-dexterity, lifting to 10 lbs., lifting to 50 lbs., lifting over 10 lbs. to 50 lbs., climbing stairs, carrying, lifting, range-of-motion, reaching
    • Frequent: (up to 66%): standing, climbing ladders, walking, squatting, sitting.
    • Continuous: (up to 100%): seeing, reading, hearing-speech-range, speaking clearly.

    Due to the inherently dangerous nature of the industry and requirements to work with or around hazardous equipment, employees must have sufficient eyesight to judge distance/coordination of equipment and tools, be able to maintain attention and concentration for extended periods, be able to withstand exposure to all kinds of weather while completing work assignments, be able to wear personal protective equipment as necessary, be able to enter and exit a vehicle numerous times a day, have the endurance necessary to traverse various terrain, be capable of performing job duties throughout a standard 8- or 10-hour day, be able to communicate with others, read, write, and comprehend written/verbal job instructions and information, and communicate and handle conflict professionally.
