Aircraft Electrician jobs in Bremerton, WA

Aircraft Electrician performs preventative and non-routine maintenance and inspections of aircraft avionics and electrical systems. Uses manufacturer's reference documents, diagrams, and best practices to troubleshoot problems, identify the correct solutions and replace or repair components and parts. Being an Aircraft Electrician conducts quality testing, verification procedures, and required documentation of all completed work. Ensures compliance with all FAA maintenance regulations and requirements. Additionally, Aircraft Electrician typically requires an associate degree in aviation electronics, avionics or equivalent. Requires Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Aircraft Electrician works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function. Has gained proficiency in multiple competencies relevant to the job.     Summary:

    • Complete assigned tasks in a safe manner by wearing all required PPE, and by adhering to all applicable safety requirements and standards of the company, customer, and/or regulatory group.
    • Recognize QA requirements, and report any circumstances that need attention to the QA Department or immediate supervisor.
    • Identify processes that will have to be accomplished at the shop and fill out all necessary paperwork.
    • Communicate with the supervisor, customer, or designated representative to coordinate specific job-related aspects and ensure job continuity.
    • Follow company, and customer policies, regulations, procedures, and other necessary requirements.

     

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    1. Possess and use hand tools as required to perform electrical tasks:
      1. Screwdriver (flat tip, & Phillips)
      2. Pliers (diagonal, Needle Nose, Linesmen, Channel-Lock)
      3. Wire Stripper & Knife
      4. Lug Crimpers (stakons)
      5. Tape Measurer/Ruler
      6. 3/8” Socket Set
      7. Voltage Tester
      8. Banding Tool
    2. Perform removal and installation of various electrical system components IAW drawings:
      1. Overhead lights
      2. Receptacles
      3. Heaters
      4. Distribution Panels
      5. 1 MC Speakers
    3. Remove, install, inspect, repair, replace, troubleshoot, and test electrical equipment (with little or no supervision required).
      1. MTR Controllers
      2. Interior Communication Systems
      3. Distribution Systems
    4. Take and read measurements
      1. Insulation resistance – using a 500 volt megger
      2. Amps – using a clamp-on amp meter
      3. Volts – using a volt meter
      4. RPMs – using a strobe tach or hand held tach
    5. Prep, tie-in, and connect cables to switchboards and load centers.
    6. Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and seek assistance with weights over 50 pounds.
    7. Perform all other duties as assigned.
    8. Able to withstand environmental factors such as:
      1. Outside weather conditions
      2. High, precarious places
      3. Exposed to fumes and airborne particles
      4. Very loud noise level

     

     

     

    1. Required to sit, use hands to finger, handle, feel, and reach with hands and arms on a regular basis.
    2. Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. and seek assistance with weights over 50 lbs.
    3. Occasionally perform other physical activities as required, such as:
      • Stooping
      • Bending
      • Squatting
      • Climbing (including but not limited to, vertical and incline ladders, masts, and kingposts)
      • Crawling (including but not limited to, through scuttles, manhole covers, tanks, and voids)

     

    Other Requirements:

    • Must be able to pass Drug Screening, Work Ability Screening.
    •  Must be able to obtain a Government facility security pass.
