Akima Intra-Data is looking for an Electrician to work in Biloxi, Mississippi. This candidate may be required to perform any combination of the following responsibilities : installation, maintenance, generation, distribution or repair of equipment for the generation, distribution, or utilization of electric energy.
Performs the electrical duties necessary to maintain all buildings and structures in good repair. Responsible for the equipment and tools necessary to perform such work.
Plans, coordinates, and works all activities associated within scope of an electrician to include all repairs and maintenance.
Must be able to troubleshoot and identify problems. Respond to emergency repair calls to restore operation upon notice during regular hours or after duty on-call hours.

Job Responsibilities :
Installs or repairs a variety of electrical equipment such as switches, receptacles, fixtures, conduit, wire, transformers, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, heating units, conduit systems or other transmission equipment including underground power cables.
Observes and interprets instruments such as ammeters, voltmeters, frequency meters.
Operates high and low voltage switches, circuit breakers, and other controls on switchgear and distribution panels.
Performs inspections and interprets findings to determine corrective action, locates and diagnoses trouble in the electrical system or equipment.
Follows, develops and implements a viable safety / preventive maintenance program.
Maintains required operating forms and records and assures proper use of all assigned shop equipment.
Schedules work and performs quality assurance as well as other duties as assigned in accordance with contractual, functional and mission requirements.
Shops subject matter expert in repair and installation of water heaters and associated components / systems.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications :
High school diploma or equivalent.
Licensed as a journeyman electrician or military equivalent.
State issued valid driver’s license.
Able to pass a national agency check (NAC) background investigation.
3 or more years verifiable experience as an interior electrician.
Excellent communication and customer service people skills.
