Aircraft Electrician performs preventative and non-routine maintenance and inspections of aircraft avionics and electrical systems. Uses manufacturer's reference documents, diagrams, and best practices to troubleshoot problems, identify the correct solutions and replace or repair components and parts. Being an Aircraft Electrician conducts quality testing, verification procedures, and required documentation of all completed work. Ensures compliance with all FAA maintenance regulations and requirements. Additionally, Aircraft Electrician typically requires an associate degree in aviation electronics, avionics or equivalent. Requires Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Aircraft Electrician works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function. Has gained proficiency in multiple competencies relevant to the job.     Akima Intra-Data is looking for an Electrician to work in Biloxi, Mississippi. This candidate may be required to perform any combination of the following responsibilities : installation, maintenance, generation, distribution or repair of equipment for the generation, distribution, or utilization of electric energy.

    Performs the electrical duties necessary to maintain all buildings and structures in good repair. Responsible for the equipment and tools necessary to perform such work.

    Plans, coordinates, and works all activities associated within scope of an electrician to include all repairs and maintenance.

    Must be able to troubleshoot and identify problems. Respond to emergency repair calls to restore operation upon notice during regular hours or after duty on-call hours.

    Job Responsibilities :

    Installs or repairs a variety of electrical equipment such as switches, receptacles, fixtures, conduit, wire, transformers, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, heating units, conduit systems or other transmission equipment including underground power cables.

    Observes and interprets instruments such as ammeters, voltmeters, frequency meters.

    Operates high and low voltage switches, circuit breakers, and other controls on switchgear and distribution panels.

    Performs inspections and interprets findings to determine corrective action, locates and diagnoses trouble in the electrical system or equipment.

    Follows, develops and implements a viable safety / preventive maintenance program.

    Maintains required operating forms and records and assures proper use of all assigned shop equipment.

    Schedules work and performs quality assurance as well as other duties as assigned in accordance with contractual, functional and mission requirements.

    Shops subject matter expert in repair and installation of water heaters and associated components / systems.

    Qualifications

    Minimum Qualifications :

    High school diploma or equivalent.

    Licensed as a journeyman electrician or military equivalent.

    State issued valid driver’s license.

    Able to pass a national agency check (NAC) background investigation.

    3 or more years verifiable experience as an interior electrician.

    Excellent communication and customer service people skills.
