Classification: Hourly

Location:  Huntington, WV

Job Summary:

Perform repair and fabrication of components for electro-mechanical equipment using manual lathes, shapers, drill presses, grinders as well as electroplating.  Must apply knowledge of machining procedures, mechanics, mathematics, metal properties and layout.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Ability to operate mechanical equipment to assemble and repair electric motor components and sub-assemblies.  
• Use of measuring devices, (i.e.:  ruler, micrometer, venier, etc.), hand tools and testing devices (i.e.:  megger, volt meter, etc.).
• Read basic prints and and line diagrams (i.e.:  lead connections).
• Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
• Performs a variety of tasks.
• A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.
• Works under general supervision.

Experience, Skills and Experience:                                

• High school diploma or its equivalent.
• May be required to be certified in an area of specialty with 2 - 4 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
• Ability to read/follow verbal work instructions and complete required documents.
• Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures.
