Job Summary: 

The Automobile Body Repairer will repair damaged fiberglass automobile bodies using pneumatic tools and knowledge of fiberglass repair techniques. 

Essential Job Functions: 

• Cutting away damaged fiberglass
• Replaces and repairs fiberglass as needed
• Smooths edges of painted surfaces using sandpaper or air-powered sander
• Masks surrounding undamaged surfaces to prevent damage during repairs
• Mixes polyester resin and hardener according to specifications and applies mixture to repair area
• Applies and spreads body filler manually to reestablish surface
• Manually files away excess filler to match original contour and shape 

Other Job Functions: 

• Occasionally secures new panels to repair area using C-clamp
• Other duties as assigned 

Requirements

Qualifications/Education/Experience/Skills: 

• High school diploma, GED or equivalent
• 1-2 years of experience in the job functions listed above
• Ability to read job orders 
• Thorough understanding of how to use the required tools, including (but not limited to) air grinder, air-powered sander, masking tape, plastic film cutting shears, C-clamp, and air gun. 

Physical Requirements: 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee routinely is required to sit, walk, see, hear, and feel. Occasionally will need to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Moderate environment temperature and noise level, Must be able to interpret data, information, and documents. Can learn and apply new information and/or skills.
