Aerospace Engineer researches and develops structural engineering specifications for aerospace products, parts, or associated operations to improve the efficiency and reliability of aerospace systems. Analyzes results of stress tests on various craft and missile parts to determine material durability and tolerances. Being an Aerospace Engineer oversees flight tests of prototypes and analyzes resulting data to validate flight characteristics and identify necessary improvements. Conducts calculations and utilizes simulations to evaluate aerodynamics, structural integrity, propulsion efficiency, and the effect on fuel consumption of new or existing materials. Additionally, Aerospace Engineer utilizes CAE, 3-D, and digital modeling to create detailed plans and specifications to support production. Assists quality assurance and purchasing teams with the evaluation of new or existing suppliers, products and materials, or technologies. Understands and complies with all federal regulatory requirements and specifications. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Aerospace Engineer work is closely managed.     Role Overview:

    The Manager, Procurement is a strategic role that will lead, participate, analyze, and manage Procurement project related activities for their respective Product Lines. This Role is a focal point for the Operations Lead for all Procurement related activities involved within the Product Line.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Attends and participates in all required meetings as Procurement representative for the Product Line
    • Drives visibility and action into supply mis-alignments for the Product Line
    • Primary focal for Communication across the Business for Procurement activities related to the Product Line
    • Forward looking for trends, supplier risks, drop in demands, MFI increases, and Mismatches for Product Line
    • Analyze root causes to lead resolution to a permanent fix that will mitigate a repeat of overdue deliveries
    • Responsible for developing and improving sourcing strategies to enhance price, quality, timing, and reliability outcomes
    • Leads active risk mitigation strategies
    • Other projects assigned and directed by Leadership

    Qualifications/Experience Required:

    • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 6 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience
    • U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee or asylee) or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations required

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Self-directed professional able to work with minimal direction, keeping leadership/stakeholders informed.
    • In-depth knowledge of Supply Chain Management/Procurement practices, Operations, or Project Management
    • High aptitude with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
    • SAP proficiency.

    The salary range for this role is 96,000 USD - 200,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
