Aerospace Engineer researches and develops structural engineering specifications for aerospace products, parts, or associated operations to improve the efficiency and reliability of aerospace systems. Analyzes results of stress tests on various craft and missile parts to determine material durability and tolerances. Being an Aerospace Engineer oversees flight tests of prototypes and analyzes resulting data to validate flight characteristics and identify necessary improvements. Conducts calculations and utilizes simulations to evaluate aerodynamics, structural integrity, propulsion efficiency, and the effect on fuel consumption of new or existing materials. Additionally, Aerospace Engineer utilizes CAE, 3-D, and digital modeling to create detailed plans and specifications to support production. Assists quality assurance and purchasing teams with the evaluation of new or existing suppliers, products and materials, or technologies. Understands and complies with all federal regulatory requirements and specifications. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Aerospace Engineer work is closely managed.     Aerospace Mechanical Engineer

    POSITION SUMMARY:
    Technical Coordinator for Repair and Overhaul processes supporting various product families and/or processes. Coordinates repair development, with the creation of processes, planning documentation, work instructions, etc. Creates drawings and engineering documents for the maintenance of needed components.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
    Develop non-OEM repairs using stress analysis (primarily statics and material design analysis). Develop Engineering Reports in keeping with FAA regulatory requirements/expectations.

    Accomplish all aspects of Reverse Engineering process including testing, modeling, drawing development, and substantiation reports.

    Coordinates actions for repair and overhaul functions, will prepare and modify Travelers , Bill of Materials associated with the repair station activities. Write and revise work instructions, process specifications and other documentation as required.
    Design, Fabrication, Assembly, and Vendor technical liaison. Will recommend design and process improvements.

    Coordinate transition from evaluation to production on new programs and products.
    Evaluate non-conforming materials, scrap, rework & warranty claims with MRB authority.
    Review alternate materials and determine if products are substitutable to specifications. Document repair and rework requirements.
    Provide technical support, guidance, and consultation related to assigned processes.
    Perform other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications


    EDUCATION/TRAINING:

    B.S. In Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Industrial Engineering or similar technical discipline. With Experience in SolidWorks, proficiency in Microsoft Office, Literate in Email, Internet, etc. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Basic coding skills is a plus but not required.
    Extensive industry experience (may be substituted for a degree at management discretion).

    Entry level positions require 1-4 years experience in aerospace, preferably in a repair and overhaul environment with knowledge of FAA regulations and composite bonding experience a plus.
