Aerospace Engineer researches and develops structural engineering specifications for aerospace products, parts, or associated operations to improve the efficiency and reliability of aerospace systems. Analyzes results of stress tests on various craft and missile parts to determine material durability and tolerances. Being an Aerospace Engineer oversees flight tests of prototypes and analyzes resulting data to validate flight characteristics and identify necessary improvements. Conducts calculations and utilizes simulations to evaluate aerodynamics, structural integrity, propulsion efficiency, and the effect on fuel consumption of new or existing materials. Additionally, Aerospace Engineer utilizes CAE, 3-D, and digital modeling to create detailed plans and specifications to support production. Assists quality assurance and purchasing teams with the evaluation of new or existing suppliers, products and materials, or technologies. Understands and complies with all federal regulatory requirements and specifications. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Aerospace Engineer work is closely managed.     In the role of a Project Engineer, taking ownership of assigned projects is a cornerstone of success. You will assist with obtaining 3rd party certifications, a testament to the quality and reliability of our products. Innovation is at the heart of this role, as you will develop and test prototypes for new product ideas, create detailed product specifications, and maintain comprehensive project development plans.

    Your responsibilities will extend beyond development to include the sustainment of existing products and leading cost-saving initiatives through Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VA/VE).

You will also be responsible for the creation and execution of Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), which are essential for the continuous improvement of our products.

    Your role will involve identifying and executing cost-out projects to drive Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VA/VE), which will contribute to the company's financial health and competitive edge. Lastly, your hands-on approach to testing products, along with design validation, detailed design, and drawing review, will ensure that our products not only meet but exceed industry standards. These skills and responsibilities, when executed with dedication, will be the driving force behind your success as a Project Engineer.

    Qualifications:

    Required Qualifications:
    • Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution
    • Minimum 2 years experience in engineering in a manufacturing environment
    • Minimum 1 year of CAD/Solidworks modeling experience and the ability to develop 2D drawings
    • Candidate must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship
    • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates residing within a 50-mile radius of Highland, IL OR Syracuse, NY will be considered. Active-duty military members exempt from this geographical limitation.

    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Understanding of phase gate project development
    • Experience working in a global business environment including domestic and foreign locations
    • SAP experience
    • Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
    • Voice of the Customer (VOC) experience
    • Experience in steel, iron and aluminum casting product design
    • Experience in sheet metal stamping and designing spring steel products
