Adult Education Teacher is responsible for teaching courses to adults in a classroom setting. Develops and implements appropriate course work, activities, and assessments for an adult class. Being an Adult Education Teacher evaluates and monitors student's performance, and helps students identify and pursue personal goals. Assesses and documents students' progress. Additionally, Adult Education Teacher typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Adult Education Teacher occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. The Division of Adult Education is currently accepting applications for a part-time instructor to provide Math and Science instruction in our Adult Basic Education (ABE) department.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Prepares lesson plans for classroom instruction and obtains or prepares instructional materials for classroom use · Provides learner guidance to students · Evaluates students’ ongoing progress and performance in attaining goals and objectives · Promotes the adult education program to public and private organizations throughout the Service Delivery Area of the college · Participates in the EAGLE competition · Prepares and maintains all required documentation and administrative reports · Participates in staff development and team conferences · Maintains a secure classroom environment · Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Two (2) years’ related work experience · Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with math focus
