Admitting Supervisor supervises the day-to-day patient admissions and access operations and staff responsible for required registration, and patient intake processes. Follows standardized processes for admission procedures to ensure accurate data collection, a positive patient experience, and effective coordination between clinical and administrative teams. Being an Admitting Supervisor monitors operational metrics to improve processes, increase efficiency, or correct problems. Prepares staff work schedules to ensure coverage and coordinate training and staff resources. Additionally, Admitting Supervisor follows all established policies and standards to preserve patient confidentiality, ensure data security and comply with all applicable regulations. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Admitting Supervisor supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. To be an Admitting Supervisor typically requires 3 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. Shift: Varied, Primarily Nights
PURPOSE
The primary purpose of the Registration staff is to gather accurate demographic, medical, and financial information in an efficient manner, in accordance with established procedures, and as directed by the Director of Revenue Cycle and/or the Registration Supervisor to assure that a successful, viable department is maintained at all times.
This position will also require the employee to perform other related duties and activities assigned by your Director or Supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS
· High School education or equivalent is required.
· Ability to handle frustrating circumstances in calm and composed manner.
· Ability to interact with co-workers and work as a team.
· Knowledge of computer system (typing, word, excel, email, etc.).
· Medical terminology/background desired.
· Customer service experience is desirable.
· Be thorough and able to follow detailed instructions.
· Be highly skilled in verbal communication, problem solving, prioritization, and organization.
· Be able to make a change on demand and a multitasker.
