Admitting Supervisor supervises the day-to-day patient admissions and access operations and staff responsible for required registration, and patient intake processes. Follows standardized processes for admission procedures to ensure accurate data collection, a positive patient experience, and effective coordination between clinical and administrative teams. Being an Admitting Supervisor monitors operational metrics to improve processes, increase efficiency, or correct problems. Prepares staff work schedules to ensure coverage and coordinate training and staff resources. Additionally, Admitting Supervisor follows all established policies and standards to preserve patient confidentiality, ensure data security and comply with all applicable regulations. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Admitting Supervisor supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. To be an Admitting Supervisor typically requires 3 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. Grand Forks, ND 58201 Pay Range: $55,078.40 - $82,617.60 Summary: The Hospital Admitting Supervisor is responsible for administering, coordinating, and reviewing performance for assigned staff. This position works closely with the Training Supervisor to train on quality review trends and productivity tracking. This leader seeks to identify and implement new and emerging strategies to increase efficiency, improve processes, and enhance the patient experience. Essential Job Functions: Drives accountability and metrics reviews with staff. Ensures quality reviews and productivity standards are updated and reviewed with staff. Provides feedback to staff based on the quality reviews completed. Works with the trainer to develop tip sheets, training guides, and any other supplement data to help staff. Analyzes denials data to identify trends and shares findings to drive process improvements. Communicates with staff to prevent future denials. Refers patients accounts to Financial Counselors, as needed. Manages technical ticket submissions and works closely with Information Services to enhance, build and optimize the EMR system. Obtains the required information from the patient/family in order to complete registration and documents information. Completes bedside registration as needed to collect all appropriate information and eligibility verification. Creates pending readmissions for hospitalization of therapeutic, diagnostic and/or invasive procedures. Uses bed planning tools to resolve scheduling discrepancies according to standard operating procedure. Develops and implements short term goals and is responsible for measurable outcomes and effective use of resources. Responsible for program and service development in response to both internal and external stakeholders. Advises leadership of significant and/or unexpected variances. Demonstrates an understanding of the budget and assists leadership in keeping within fiscal parameters. Assists leadership in requests for capital expenditures. Participates in the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and job descriptions. Serves as a resource for staff and physicians regarding policies, procedures, and practices. Carries out the hiring process for Manager-approved positions. Provides information and makes recommendations to the Manager on disciplinary action and separation related decisions. Promotes continuous staff participation in the performance review process. Completes reporting and record keeping requirements accurately and within established timelines. Monitors services for efficiency and accuracy by evaluating, initiating and participating in restructuring of current and new procedures, services, and/or programs. Performs other duties as assigned or needed to meet the needs of the department/organization.
