Follows all established policies and standards to preserve patient confidentiality, ensure data security and comply with all applicable regulations. Requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Admitting Clerk works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Primary Duties:
A registrar will serve as a receptionist, information gatherer, insurance specialist, public relations, and collector.
Employ proper search criteria in order to obtain accurate Medical Record information per departmental guidelines. Ensure that all patients are entered accurately, thoroughly and in a timely manner in the computer. Bed side registration if needed.
Verify insurance eligibility either by INVISION HDX software, telephone or internet websites.
Request, collect, document, and communicate payment requirements for co-pays and deductibles through US Bank.
Inform patients of their payment options including payment plans, financial assistance programs and compassionate care programs.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED required
1-2 years Experience working in a healthcare environment required
