Ed Herrington Inc. is currently seeking full-time Outside Sales Representative for daytime Monday – Friday, 7a – 4p.

SUMMARY: Proactively provides profitable sales growth through maintenance of strong relationships with current accounts, increased sales to current accounts, initiation of new accounts focused on the MITHOR code in conjunction with current years’ sales plan, & cooperative interaction with all departments by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develops list of prospective customers through lead generation processes, reviewing company accounts and consulting business associates.
- Calls on prospects to explain features of services, costs and advantages. Responds quickly to customer needs with complete and accurate information.
- Manages assigned accounts for Ed Herrington, Inc. profitability. Assists credit manager with credit issues in order to safeguard our financial interests in any given project.
- Works with customers/company officials to investigate/resolve complaints/discrepancies on product or services.
- Promotes and sells in all Herrington’s product group areas i.e. paint, Kitchen & Bath, countertops, etc.
- Participates in and contributes to discussions of quality improvements to our approach to customer service.
- Maintains customer data records.
- Prepares sales budget for the upcoming fiscal year by customer, product group and gross profit expectation.
- Submits sales forecast reports as requested and required by supervisor and senior management.
- Attends trade shows, sales meetings, and builder/customer events as required.
- Participates in all required training assignments. Works towards CBMS Certification.
- Displays teamwork and effort in performance of all duties.
Supports the goals and objectives of Ed Herrington, Inc. through adherence to company policies, safety guidelines, and work requirements for successful completion of all assignments.
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or one to two years related experience and/or training in the building trades industry; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Requires valid drivers’ license and ability to drive in a safe and responsible manner. Clean MVR check by Ed Herrington policy requirements.
Must be proficient in ability to use and understand company software/computer systems.
Must be able to use available millwork software, i.e. Anderson, Marvin, etc.
Requires advance knowledge of engineered wood design and products.
Independent position requiring minimal supervision.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: This is largely a sedentary role with prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer; however, while performing the duties of this job the employee will need to frequently communicate with others and must be able to exchange accurate information; consistently operate a computer and other office equipment. The employee will need to occasionally move about to meet with customers, access files, and use other office equipment. Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds; occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.
