  • Summary:
    Provides professional administrative assistance for Residential Services in the Safe Relationships Division. Engages callers/clients in crisis with dignity and respect and connects them with Advocacy / Shelter staff as appropriate.
    Essential Functions:
    • Provides office services such as telephone communications, greeting clients and visitors, general correspondence, reports, supply inventories, appointment scheduling, transcription, and filing. Prepares typed documents and is knowledgeable of technical language, grammar, and appropriate structure and format.
    • Documents client interactions in the confidential electronic database used by the agency.
    • Maintains office equipment and prepares office supply requests. At the direction of the Shelter Coordinator, assists with maintaining residential household services and supplies.
    • Conducts regular reviews of client files for compliance with agency standards in coordination with the Shelter Coordinator and Housing Services Program Manager.
    • Manages and compiles statistical reports for Safe Relationships program as directed.
    • At the direction of the Shelter Coordinator, assist guests with social, medical, legal, job, and transportation needs.
    • Provides back-up services as part of the FSI support staff team as needed. Performs such other duties as incumbent upon the position and as assigned.
    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
    • High School Diploma/GED required; related associate degree preferred. Minimum of one-year office experience. Prefer strong computer experience.
    • Ability to articulate ideas clearly (both written and orally), listen accurately, and establish a personal rapport with people from a variety of backgrounds.
    • Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with knowledge of MS Office applications.
    • Maintains dignity and self-control in stressful situations and objectivity about personal strengths and limitations.
    Expected Hours of Work:
    Primarily Mon-Friday, daytime hours. May include evening and weekend hours as needed.
    Work Environment and Physical Requirements:
    • Maintains physical condition appropriate to the performance of assigned duties and responsibilities, which may include the following: walking, bending, stretching, lifting, standing or sitting for extended periods of time, operating assigned equipment.
    • Ability to work flexible hours, as needed.
    • Requires valid NC driver’s license and ability to travel between various agency sites and community resources.
