Addiction Mental Health Assessor conducts initial and ongoing assessments of patients in Alcohol and Drug (AoD) addiction programs to determine mental health needs and establish care requirements. Provides initial treatment and refers clients to appropriate agencies/providers as needed. Being an Addiction Mental Health Assessor works with patients and families to develop appropriate chemical dependency service plans. Complies with standards in the area of evaluation, assessment, treatment, and service delivery to clients. Additionally, Addiction Mental Health Assessor requires certification as a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC) or similar. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. May require a state license to practice. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Addiction Mental Health Assessor's years of experience requirement may be unspecified.     JOB DESCRIPTION:
    As a Mental Health Therapist, you will share our vision for improving and expanding access to quality mental health care and will thrive in an environment driven by our core values: authenticity, humor, compassion, creativity, acceptance, and determination.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Evaluate mental health diagnoses, then create and implement a treatment plan
    • Complete ongoing documentation (including further diagnosis, treatment plan reviews, and case notes) in a timely manner
    • Provide excellent care, utilizing creativity to help clients achieve and exceed their goals
    • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to fill gaps in mental health care
    • Coordinate care with outside providers (PCP, Psychiatrist, etc.) as needed
    • Attend and participate in weekly clinical staff meetings and trainings

    QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Master’s Degree or higher in behavioral sciences or a related field
    • License to practice therapy in the state of Michigan (LMSW/LCSW, LPC, LMFT, LP, et. al.) - unfortunately we are not able to provide supervision for limited license candidates at this time
    • Experience completing diagnostic assessments, treatment plans, and clinical notes
    • Ability to demonstrate and model stable, appropriate boundaries with clients
    • Excellent time management skills with a proven record of meeting deadlines
    • Knowledge of HIPAA standards
    • Effective communication skills
    • Comfort working with a diverse group of clients & colleagues
    • Adaptability, creativity, and flexibility
    • Proficient with Microsoft 365 applications, including Office Suite, Outlook, and Teams (preferred)
    • Post-grad training in an EBP (such as DBT, CBT, EMDR, etc.), a plus

    • We are a growth-minded practice: fully licensed therapists will have monthly 1:1 supervision with the Clinical Director (where professional development will be a priority) and will be required to attend case consultations and staff meetings
