Addiction Mental Health Assessor conducts initial and ongoing assessments of patients in Alcohol and Drug (AoD) addiction programs to determine mental health needs and establish care requirements. Provides initial treatment and refers clients to appropriate agencies/providers as needed. Being an Addiction Mental Health Assessor works with patients and families to develop appropriate chemical dependency service plans. Complies with standards in the area of evaluation, assessment, treatment, and service delivery to clients. Additionally, Addiction Mental Health Assessor requires certification as a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC) or similar. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. May require a state license to practice. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Addiction Mental Health Assessor's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. The Mental Health Educator (MHE), under the supervision of the Executive Director, is first and foremost, responsible for working towards fulfilling the organizations mission “to promote mental health and wellness through education, advocacy, service, and access to care.” The MHE will accomplish this through the implementation of evidence informed trainings, digital campaigns, and media efforts that target consumers and professionals across all stages of life.
This is an entry level position for those who meet the minimum requirements.
Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree in a field related to MHAH’s mission (social work, public health, advocacy, justice, education, psychology, counseling, etc.). Lived or work experience, or a combination thereof, may be considered in lieu of the education requirement.
Experience and familiarity in education, social services, community organizing, justice, advocacy, or mental health. Demonstrated commitment to and skills in collaboration, community relations, facilitation. Demonstrated commitment to social justice, policies of inclusion, and understanding and compassion for people living with mental health issues.
Moderate to advanced social media skills including video recording, editing, posting is ideal
The ability to learn a curriculum, then learn to effectively teach it is critical.
