Addiction Mental Health Assessor conducts initial and ongoing assessments of patients in Alcohol and Drug (AoD) addiction programs to determine mental health needs and establish care requirements. Provides initial treatment and refers clients to appropriate agencies/providers as needed. Being an Addiction Mental Health Assessor works with patients and families to develop appropriate chemical dependency service plans. Complies with standards in the area of evaluation, assessment, treatment, and service delivery to clients. Additionally, Addiction Mental Health Assessor requires certification as a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC) or similar. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. May require a state license to practice. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Addiction Mental Health Assessor's years of experience requirement may be unspecified.     Compass Health is currently looking for a Mental Health Therapist / Clinician II for our MCOT in Bellingham, WA

    The Mobile Crisis Outreach Team (MCOT) is a community-based outreach team with the ability to respond to and provide crisis services in the community (e.

    g., homes, schools, shelters). The Team serves adults, adolescents, and children who are experiencing a behavioral health (mental health and / or substance use) crisis regardless of their funding source.

    MCOT offers short term crisis intervention and prevention services utilizing strength-based, solution-focused, culturally competent, trauma-informed, and recovery-oriented interventions.

    MCOT consists of a team of behavioral health professionals, including mental health professionals, certified peer counselors, and chemical dependency professionals collaborating with the individual in crisis and their family members to develop a plan to get through the current crisis, manage future crises, and move towards recovery.

    What you will be performing

    This position will provide direct, supportive, and ongoing coordination of therapeutic services to assist clients with behavioral health conditions achieve the highest level of independence and stability possible in their community.

    Services delivered are recovery-focused and include but are not limited to case management, treatment planning, resource identification and assistance, identification and development of natural supports, advocacy, service monitoring and follow-up, collaboration with natural supports and other providers, and individual and group services.

    Serves as a treatment team member and provides back up to other team members as needed.

    What you will be carrying along

    • Qualifies as a Mental Health Professional (MHP) as defined by WAC preferred.
    • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with Evidence-Based Practices, or interest and ability to learn.
    • Individuals who do not already hold a license or associate license through the Washington State Department of Health must submit Agency Affiliated Counselor application upon hire and be approved by the DOH.
    • Valid Washington State Driver’s License including vehicle and appropriate insurance, if applicable.
    • Ability to pass pre-employment criminal background check, which may or may not include an additional search by DSHS.
