Addiction Mental Health Assessor conducts initial and ongoing assessments of patients in Alcohol and Drug (AoD) addiction programs to determine mental health needs and establish care requirements. Provides initial treatment and refers clients to appropriate agencies/providers as needed. Being an Addiction Mental Health Assessor works with patients and families to develop appropriate chemical dependency service plans. Complies with standards in the area of evaluation, assessment, treatment, and service delivery to clients. Additionally, Addiction Mental Health Assessor requires certification as a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC) or similar. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. May require a state license to practice. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Addiction Mental Health Assessor's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Type of Position: Fee For Service (FSS) 1099 Contractor : (30) billable hours per week minimum. Monday-Friday 9am-5pm.
Program Function: The Addictions Counselor/ Substance Abuse Counselor will work in a multidisciplinary team environment, providing frontline care to consumers in the IOP, OP and PHP programs. This position is accountable for assisting clients in the development and maintenance of healthy lifestyles and recovery management skills. This position requires a thorough understanding of the organization’s philosophy of treatment, admission process, discharge criteria and aftercare services. Extensive knowledge of substance abuse and dual diagnosis is essential. This position is responsible for ensuring that clinical and administrative services are provided for all consumers in accordance with government and accreditation regulations.
Essential Duties:
This position will be a member of the multidisciplinary team and has the responsibility to carry out rehabilitation and support functions and assist in treatment; substance abuse services, education support and consultation to the persons served.
