Addiction Mental Health Assessor conducts initial and ongoing assessments of patients in Alcohol and Drug (AoD) addiction programs to determine mental health needs and establish care requirements. Provides initial treatment and refers clients to appropriate agencies/providers as needed. Being an Addiction Mental Health Assessor works with patients and families to develop appropriate chemical dependency service plans. Complies with standards in the area of evaluation, assessment, treatment, and service delivery to clients. Additionally, Addiction Mental Health Assessor requires certification as a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC) or similar. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. May require a state license to practice. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Addiction Mental Health Assessor's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Mental Health Assistant: $37,611.08 - $43,246.10 annual starting salary based on experience.

Role:
Under the supervision of the PERS Program Coordinator the Mental Health Assistant monitors the health, safety, and security of multiple consumers simultaneously via the electronic Personal Emergency Response System (PERS) monitors. Responds to their needs verbally and in person, or by arranging for appropriate response. PERS runs 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
