Trinity collaborates with retirement plan sponsors and their associated financial professionals in delivering highly effective administration and compliance solutions for their employer sponsored retirement plans.
What Our Actuary handles:
- Provide technical support to internal and external counterparts.
- Perform and review actuarial services for DB practice clients, including, but not limited to: Actuarial Valuations, Non-discrimination Testing, AFTAP Certifications, 5500 Reporting, Schedule SB, PBGC Filings and Notices, Financial Accounting Reports, Participant Distributions, etc.
- Research and stay current on legislative changes that affect Compliance Administration.
- Be involved and oversee any communications by other Actuaries with clients.
- Analyze and understand pension plan documents and benefit calculations.
- Collaborate with other departments in delivering Trinity’s reports and anticipating client’s questions.
- Provide subject matter expert knowledge related to benefit calculations and clearly communicate technical benefit calculations in a simplified manner.
- Proactively solve problems and suggest solutions as they arise.

Must Haves:
- Reside in Northeast Ohio, preferred.
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field.
- Active and in good standing Enrolled Actuary (EA) designation, preferred.
- Five (5) years of pension actuarial experience with non-discrimination testing is required.
- Two (2) years of people management experience, preferred.
- Prior experience with “DB/DC combo” plans.
- Prior experience with Pension software systems including, Penguin, Ft. William, and PensionPro preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and listening skills.
- Proficient computer / software skills, including MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Discipline and drive to stay focused and motivated with limited supervision.
- Effective time management and organization capabilities with a focus on delivering superb client experience.
- Maintain ASPPA Membership.
- Possess or willing to attain ASPPA designations (QKA, QPA, CPC, etc.) if no EA credential.
