Activity Specialist organizes and provides program content for social events for an organization or group of people. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent and 2-4 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Being an Activity Specialist is familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Additionally, Activity Specialist performs a variety of tasks. Works under general supervision; typically reports to a supervisor or manager. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. The Activity Specialist is a position with flexible hours. The Activity Specialist is responsible for direct and indirect therapeutic services to youth served in a residential living environment that promotes the learning of skills for emotional, mental, and physical health; provides a therapeutic, safe, and structured environment, as specified, in each youth’s Individual Treatment Plan and the OHU Program Plan. The Activity Specialist helps contribute to overall recreation planning and implementation. The Activity Specialist has the opportunity to take youth off campus to a host of events in the surrounding areas; including Broadway shows, sporting events, 5ks, etc. The Activity Specialist hosts and curates fun and cultural enriching events for the youth.

1. Proficient computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment and adaptive skills to expand software application skills as necessary
