    This position is being filled under the memorandum from the Under Secretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness (USD(P&R)) "Expansion of Direct Hire Authority for Certain Personnel of the Department of Defense," dated 23 JUN 2023

    As a INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST (APPSW) at the GS-2210-12 some of your typical work assignments may include:

    • Designs, develops, and modifies applications software. Analyzes and refines system requirements. Translates systems requirements into application prototypes.
    • Plans, tests and implements applications software. Works with customers to test applications. Assures software and systems quality and functionality integrates hardware and software components.
    • Establishes tracking system to monitor and display critical steps for all major program enhancement projects. Monitors project's progress; checks progress/readiness of all participating agencies at appropriate times to enable prompt remedial action; advises management of potential and actual shortfalls.
    • Establish standards and training of other personnel with the Database and Program Management Division Keeps current with J2EE standards developed commercially to minimize reprogramming requirements with underlying software upgrades.

    Qualifications

    You may qualify at the GS 12 , if you fulfill the following qualifications:

    A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service as listed below:
    • Re-meditates Cyber applications for possible security weakness and to comply with security policies and regulations.
    • Use of query languages, such as Oracle or Microsoft Access, as well as computer programming language such as Java, PL/SQL, C , C #, JavaScript, Angular and Angular JS.
    • Communicate with managers and personnel at other Agencies on user requirements and potential modifications of application systems.
    Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
