    As a Supervisory IT Specialist (SYSADMIN) at the NH-2210-4 some of your typical work assignments may include:

    • Make major recommendations to the Chief Information Officer in all matters concerning Information Technology infrastructure
      services and enterprise applications that affect the planning, policies, operation, and funding of programs /projects.
    • Direct major programs or portions thereof requiring significant resources such as designing & installing & operating multimillion dollar data centers.
    • Make decisions on work problems presented by management, peers, and subordinates.
    • Oversee and is expected to provide reasonable assurance that obligations & costs are in compliance with applicable laws, and that funds, property, and other assets are safeguarded against waste, loss, and unauthorized use or misappropriation.
    • Represent the ITO internally and externally.
    • Exercise administrative and technical supervision over an assigned staff of IT Specialists, technicians, and administrative positions engaged in IT operations and related support work.
    • Give advice, counsel, or instruction to individual employees on both work and administrative matters.

    Qualifications

    You may qualify at the NH-04 (GS-14/15), if you fulfill the following qualifications:

    A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the NH-3 (GS-13) grade level in the Federal service as listed below:
    • Assesses and provides strategic direction for resolution of mission-critical IT infrastructures, Applications, Data Centers, and Network problems, policies, and procedures;
    • Analyzes current processes to determine improvement efforts to increase the quality of work directed and implements better ways of doing business;
    • Leads, defines, manages, and integrates IT Technology efforts of several groups or teams; and
    • Plans and coordinates the installation, testing, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of hardware and software systems.
    Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
