Accounts Receivable Supervisor is responsible for supervising and guiding operations in the accounts receivable function of an organization. Maintains and reconciles accounts receivable ledger to ensure accurate and timely receipt of payments. Being an Accounts Receivable Supervisor monitors collection period and sends follow-up inquiries regarding payments for the organization. Negotiates with past-due accounts to resolve all payment issues in a timely manner. Additionally, Accounts Receivable Supervisor implements standard operating procedures to ensure compliance with internal accounting policies and controls. Generates reports to bring insight into collections, account ages, and other relevant metrics and relays conclusions to management. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Accounts Receivable Supervisor supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. To be an Accounts Receivable Supervisor typically requires 3 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. A full-time Accounts Receivable / Office Assistant position, Monday through Friday 8a.m.-4:30p.m., with our regionally, well established alarm company, located in Glens Falls, NY main office.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Answers phone calls and transfers customers to the correct department
Process salesman quotes and forward to customers
Collects and processes payments on customer accounts
Invoice service tickets
Assist customer call ins with questions on their accounts
Process insurance certifications
Generate monthly past de statements
Contact customers on past due
Knowledge/Experience:
Knowledge in Microsoft Word & Excel
Experience in Sage Accounting is a plus, not required
Conscientious, detail-oriented worker who is self-motivated
Good organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Interpersonal skills necessary in order to interact effectively with coworkers and customers
