Accounts Receivable Supervisor jobs in California
Accounts Receivable Supervisor is responsible for supervising and guiding operations in the accounts receivable function of an organization. Maintains and reconciles accounts receivable ledger to ensure accurate and timely receipt of payments. Being an Accounts Receivable Supervisor monitors collection period and sends follow-up inquiries regarding payments for the organization. Negotiates with past-due accounts to resolve all payment issues in a timely manner. Additionally, Accounts Receivable Supervisor implements standard operating procedures to ensure compliance with internal accounting policies and controls. Generates reports to bring insight into collections, account ages, and other relevant metrics and relays conclusions to management. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Accounts Receivable Supervisor supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. To be an Accounts Receivable Supervisor typically requires 3 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. We are in search of an experienced Accounts Receivable Supervisor to support the rapid growth of the logistics industry. The Accounts Receivable Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities of the department; monitor the department’s performance, tracking and posting payments, resolving customer issues, reconciling accounts, and managing AR staffs.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise the accounts receivable & collections process
- Monitor customer accounts & ensure timely payments & assess creditworthiness
- Handle customer inquiries & respond to collections calls
- Review & reconcile customer accounts. Conducting credit checks on new and potential customers
- Maintain records of customer payments & credit
- Ensure compliance with internal control policies & credit procedures
- Prepare & present reports on receivables & collections
- Develop & maintain relationships with customers
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
- At least 4 years of experience in Accounts Receivable
- Excellent knowledge of accounting principles & procedures
- Strong analytical & organizational skills
- Highly organized & ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Attention to detail & accuracy
- Ability to work independently & in a team environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite Excel, Word, Outlook) or related software as well as other accounting software programs
