Accounts Receivable Manager manages accounts receivable functions to ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies. Oversees collection activities such as sending follow-up inquiries, negotiating with past-due accounts, and keeping track of cash receipts. Being an Accounts Receivable Manager monitors account aging reports, identifies delinquent accounts, and refers accounts to collection agencies. Develops and implements controls and policies to ensure accurate and compliant receivable records. Additionally, Accounts Receivable Manager verifies customer credit limits and applicable payment terms. Audits methods and procedures of accounts receivable function to improve efficiency. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Accounts Receivable Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be an Accounts Receivable Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required. DescriptionQualifications
Your Role: Responsible for execution of sound credit, collection and deduction policies. Also responsible for recruiting, training, coaching, and managing Accounts Receivable staff.
- Assists Director of Credit in setting and meeting annual quality goals and plans, operating budgets, bad debt and deduction reserves, and strategic planning.
- Communicates and enforces credit, collection and deduction policies.
- Works with internal customers and suppliers to resolve customer credit and deduction issues.
- Proactively works through staff to identify the root causes of deduction issues and leads initiatives to reduce write-offs and increase automation.
- Leads continuous improvement efforts while applying lean thinking and tools to identify and eliminate waste.
Role Specifics:
- Travel - Occasional overnight travel for outside trainings and meetings. Must have ability to travel independently as needed, without restriction by all modes of transportation, including car, plane, or train.
We Need You To Have:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
- 2 years demonstrated successful management experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to lead in a team environment.
- Excellent project management, planning and organizational skills.
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office programs.
