Position Overview:

The Accounts Receivable and Collections Manager will work closely and collaboratively with the Finance and Accounting teammates to prepare customer statements and invoices. Utilizing expert knowledge of cash applications, manages the Accounts Receivable (AR) Aging and closely reviews and adjusts customer deductions and other tasks related to maintaining the AR records. Reconciles the AR accounts in the General Ledger. The Accounts Receivable & Collections Manager exercises discretion and independent judgment with respect to matters of significance creating an efficient, organized, and positive work environment.

Essential Functions

• Mange the AR Aging closely, targeting aged receivables and taking appropriate action to collect on them.
• Initiate appropriate collection efforts on significantly aged customer balances.
• Submit customer web-portal claims to resolve differences and past due invoices.
• Maintain AR records and reconciles all AR accounts on a monthly basis.
• Research customer discrepancies and past-due amounts. Collaborate with the team to reconcile accounts receivable.
• Prepares and posts invoices and credit and debit correspondence.
• Works closely with independent distributors; prepares distributor statements; resolves any issues with balances.
• Assists with general accounting duties to include Journal Entries, Account Reconciliations, Prepaids, Accruals, assistance with Annual Budget and Audits as needed.
• Prepares and posts invoices and credit and debit memos as needed.
• Special projects and other duties as assigned.

Education, Experience, Skills, Abilities, or Other Characteristics

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or other related business major required. (Combination of experience with coursework and/or Associates degree may be considered in lieu of education)
• Seven to ten years of previous related experience.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office including Excel, and teams. Previous experience working with accounting software and JD Edwards is required.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with great problem-solving skills.
• Ability to anticipate work needs and interact professionally with customers.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail while maintaining customer and distributor files.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to effectively communicate directly with customers to resolve any and all issues, particularly in relation to resolving unpaid accounts receivable balances.

Working Conditions

• The Accounts Receivable & Collections Manager will be based at our Dayton, OH location. This job operates in a professional office environment as well as a production manufacturing facility. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and printers/scanners. The plant can environment can include: excessive noise continuous from machinery and moving parts, slippery and uneven walking surfaces, and/or exposure odors. The plant and warehouse are not air conditioned, cold, heat, and humid conditions can be expected to mirror outdoor temperatures. Personal protective equipment such as hair net, gloves, goggles, face shield, rubber apron, ear plugs non-slip shoes/boots are to be worn when in the production/manufacturing facility.
