Additionally, Accounts Receivable Clerk responds to customer inquiries and assists with the research of any discrepancies regarding bills. May utilize accounting software and systems to manage invoices and payments. Requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Accounts Receivable Clerk works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline.   • POSITION SUMMARY:
     
    Quick Cable is looking for a fast-learning, efficient and hands-on Accounts Receivable Clerk for its US and Canadian operations. The position is responsible for all accounts receivable activities.
     
    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
     
    1. Process and apply cash receipts daily. Post Sales activity daily.
     
    1. Process credit card payments.
     
    1. Submit sales invoices through various customer portals.
     
    1. Calls on past due accounts early and often by telephone and e-mail. This includes frequent internal communication when major accounts are past due. 
     
    1. Investigates and researches short-pays and resolves in a timely manner.
     
    1. Coordinates, when necessary, with collection agencies on past due accounts after exhausting all internal company options.
     
    1. Answers customer queries through the AR email inbox. Helps facilitate the RMA process to generate credit memos.
     
    1. Reviews/approves credit review orders in a timely manner. Releases credit holds.
     
    1. Responsible for setting up new customers, including obtaining credit reports and assigning credit terms.
     
    1. Other duties as assigned.
     
     
     
     
     
    REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:
     
    1. Reports to the Controller but also takes direction from the AR Lead.
     
    1. Works closely with sales and customer service teams.
     
     
    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
     
    1. High school diploma required.  Associates Degree in Accounting or related field preferred. A solid business aptitude required.
     
    1. 1-3 years general accounting/finance experience with a strong background in credit and collections.
     
    1. Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Outlook) and a high level of proficiency working in a computer-based environment. The position will use web browsing, phone apps and ERP on a daily basis.
     
    1. Strong communication skills.
     
    1. A self-directed, can-do attitude. Proven ability to learn new applications independently.
     
    1. Proven ability to multi-task and work extended hours as the position requirements warrant.
     
    1. Proven understanding that all company departments are customers of accounting department.
