Accounts Receivable Clerk jobs in Santa Barbara, CA
Accounts Receivable Clerk supports the day-to-day operational activities of an accounts receivable department. Creates and distributes invoices to customers. Being an Accounts Receivable Clerk records, verifies, and posts payments received by the organization and ensures transactions are recorded in accordance with internal accounting policies. Maintains and reconciles accounts receivable ledger to ensure accurate and timely receipt of payments. Additionally, Accounts Receivable Clerk responds to customer inquiries and assists with the research of any discrepancies regarding bills. May utilize accounting software and systems to manage invoices and payments. Requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Accounts Receivable Clerk works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. POSITION SUMMARY
As an Accounts Receivable Specialist at [Company Name], you will be responsible for managing the accounts receivable process and ensuring the accurate and timely recording of financial transactions. Your key responsibilities will include:
Onsite- Goleta, CA
8am-5pm, M-F
3 month contract with opportunity to transition to full time employee.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Processing invoices accurately and efficiently.
- Posting payments and reconciling accounts receivable transactions.
- Following up with customers to resolve billing discrepancies and outstanding payments.
- Monitoring aging reports and initiating collection efforts as needed.
- Collaborating with internal teams to address customer inquiries and resolve issues related to billing and payments.
- Assisting with month-end close activities, including account reconciliations and reporting.
- Providing analysis and insights on accounts receivable metrics to support decision-making.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Previous experience in accounts receivable or a similar finance role
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting software.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
