Accounts Payable Supervisor is responsible for supervising and guiding the day-to-day operational activities of an accounts payable function. Maintains and reconciles accounts payable ledger to validate charges and ensure accurate and timely payments. Being an Accounts Payable Supervisor prepares and evaluates applicable accounting reports to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for cost-savings and relays the conclusions to management. Implements standard operating procedures to maintain accurate financial records and compliance with accounting policies. Additionally, Accounts Payable Supervisor investigates and resolves discrepancies in billings and payments. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Accounts Payable Supervisor supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. To be an Accounts Payable Supervisor typically requires 3 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. About this opportunity: The Accounts Payable position is essential to the financial performance of KHQ Incorporated. This successful candidate will process Accounts Payable for our television stations located in Washington state. This position will also share KHQ receptionist backup duties and provide support for the smooth running of the accounting office.
Primary Accountabilities: Process, batch, code, and input payables invoices for Washington locations; Review A/P invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment; Process ACH and A/P check selection, print and distribute checks as required; Maintain W-9 Forms; Month end processing, including accruals, and credit card reconciliation; Prepare and submit 1099/1096 Forms; Set up and maintain A/P vendor accounts; Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications & Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with both internal and external customers, Microsoft Suite and Acumatica, problem solving and troubleshooting skills, excellent organizational skills with great attention to detail, and must be self-motivated.
Other Requirements: The successful candidate must be able to deal with frequent interruptions, handle multiple projects, and have exceptional multi-tasking skills.
