Maintains and reconciles accounts payable ledger to validate charges and ensure accurate and timely payments. Being an Accounts Payable Supervisor prepares and evaluates applicable accounting reports to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for cost-savings and relays the conclusions to management. Implements standard operating procedures to maintain accurate financial records and compliance with accounting policies. Additionally, Accounts Payable Supervisor investigates and resolves discrepancies in billings and payments. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The AP supervisor will be responsible for training, assigning duties, scheduling, coaching, and communicating job expectations to those team members working on TMT invoices. The role will coordinate and oversee all team members that are working on TMT invoices and oversee their functions ensuring that vendors are paid timely and accurately.
• Performs technical duties in the processing and preparation of TMT invoices.• Acts as an internal company subject matter expert and capable of exercising direction and independent judgment with respect to matter involving TMT invoices.• Complete or supervise staff in completing TMT check runs weekly.• Complete or supervise staff in completing non-TMT and non-Certify check runs.• Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish assigned goals. May orient, train, assign and check the work of lower-level employees.• Assist Accounts Payable specialists with answering department and vendor questions with regard to TMT invoices.• Provide project support for new system implementations, system upgrades, annual system updates and system enhancements.• Supervise workflow and direct reports within the functions of TMT invoices within Accounts Payable department.
