Accounts Payable/Receivable Manager manages the accounts payable and accounts receivable functions of an organization to ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies. Reviews and evaluates the accounts payable and receivable registers to validate charges and ensure timely and accurate payments and receipt of payments. Being an Accounts Payable/Receivable Manager monitors account aging reports, identifies delinquent accounts, and refers accounts to collection agencies. Verifies customer credit limits and applicable payment terms. Additionally, Accounts Payable/Receivable Manager designs and implements standard policies and procedures to ensure accurate and compliant financial records. Audits methods and procedures of the accounts payable and receivable functions to improve efficiency. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Accounts Payable/Receivable Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. The Associate Director (Accounts Receivables Manager / Associate Bursar) plays a pivotal role in our technology-based customer service environment. They must embody innovation, sound judgment, active listening, kindness, and a strong sense of responsibility and accountability. This position serves as a leader in the department's "front office," overseeing a team of specialists and managing related procedures, customer services, and communications.
This individual will effectively deliver on the GFU Be Known Promise, particularly through student receivables and customer service. They must possess the ability to discern, evaluate, and balance financial risk while remaining dedicated to empowering students to complete their degrees. With the authority to enforce policy and make exceptions when necessary, this role significantly impacts student retention and collections processes.

Throughout the day, the Associate Director supervises staff, ensures exceptional customer service, evaluates financial risks, makes policy decisions, problem-solves strategically, and collaborates with colleagues. Adaptable and responsive, the Associate Director addresses emerging issues promptly while embodying the Be Known Promise and advancing the organization's mission. Daily responsibilities could include strategic problem-solving, recognizing and celebrating successes, and providing recommendations to the Director as needed. Additionally, the Associate Director assumes leadership responsibilities in the Director's absence, ensuring continuity and excellence in service delivery.
