Accounts Payable Clerk

Salem Leasing is a Winston-Salem, NC-based manufacturer of industrial and commercial electrical equipment. We are seeking a Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounts payable and the ability to work independently.

Essential Functions:

Accounts Payable Clerk Job Responsibilities:

Completes payments and controls expenses by receiving, processing, verifying, and reconciling invoices.

Accounts Payable Administrator Job Duties:

• Reconciles processed work by verifying entries and comparing purchase order totals to invoice balances.
• Charges expenses to accounts and cost centers by analyzing invoice/expense reports; recording entries.
• Pays vendors by monitoring discount opportunities; verifying federal id numbers; scheduling and preparing checks; resolving purchase order, contract, invoice, or payment discrepancies and documentation; insuring credit is received for outstanding memos.
• Disburses invoices to the appropriate manager when received directly from vendors.
• Verifies vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions.
• Maintains historical records by filing documents.
• Analyzes sales taxes on invoices for accuracy.
• Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.
• Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and assisting with other administrators.
• Accomplishes accounting and organization mission by completing related tasks as needed.

Accounts Payable Clerk Skills and Qualifications:

Attention to Detail, Thoroughness, Organization, Analyzing Information , Accounting, Vendor Relationships, PC Proficiency, Data Entry Skills, General Math Skills, Basic Excel Skills, Ability to Meet Deadlines.
