Accounts Payable Clerk jobs in Lynchburg, VA

Cardinal Home Center is seeking an Accounts Payable Clerk to support the Crozet & Charlottesville locations. The ideal candidate must be a diligent individual able to maintain the accounts payable duties in an accurate and timely manner. This person will be comfortable working with a high degree of attention to detail and discretion. Candidates should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, while working individually and as part of a team.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Match and enter billing invoices and credits, coding expenses to the GL when necessary, to ensure all invoices are processed within discount due dates
• Review vendor invoices for accuracy and reconcile any issues
• Communicate variances and required resolution steps clearly and accurately to vendors for timely resolution of issues
• Coordinate with receiving team whenever necessary for discrepancy resolution
• Review and reconcile to vendor statements
• Document archiving – organize/file documents in case need of reference arises

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Outlook
• Ability to work well both independently and in coordination with a team
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Accounts payable experience, preferred
• High School diploma or equivalent (minimum)
• Capacity to work at a computer for several hours daily.
