- Checks that all invoices have been properly coded and approved for payment.
- Review the accuracy of the invoice entries into the system and prepare accounts payable checks and mail it out to the vendors when signed.
- Work with the department heads and vendors to provide them all the AP related information that they may need.
- Analyzes vendor accounts and negotiates extended terms with vendors when cash is restricted
- Prints all accounts payable periodic reports and maintains all accounts payable files.
- Provide all AP related information to the auditors.
- Assist in monthly closings by posting invoices accrual and other AP related month-end closing items.
- Generate and mail out the 1099 forms at the end of the year.
- Assist on special projects as directed by the Accounting Manager and Director of Finance.
Qualifications
- At least 1 year of accounting experince in the hotel industry required.
- Ability to multi task and organize effectively.
- Ability to get along well with a variety of personalities and individuals.
- Ability to effectively build relationships with customers and co-workers.
- Ability to use appropriate interpersonal styles and communication methods to gain acceptance of a product, service, or idea.
- Ability to accept responsibility and account for his/her actions.
- Ability to pay attention to the minute details of a project or task.
EDUCATION:
- Associates or Bachelors Degree in Accounting or related field
