The Role:
The Accounting manager will be involved with all North American entities and be seen as a backup for the Assistant Controller. The Accounting Manager will be an integral member of the Controller’s team, assisting with the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring that financial statements and internal and external reporting are prepared to the highest standard. The Accounting Manager will also work closely with the Assistant Controller and with the Corporate Controller to ensure all critical components of the Controller’s organization are functioning efficiently and effectively.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities
•Involved in the monthly close process to issue timely and accurate monthly financial statements in accordance with IFRS; review related account analysis for accuracy.
•General ledger maintenance (new department and account setup including department & account groups).
•Helping with external and internal audits ensuring all necessary work is performed, auditors’ questions and follow-up items are addressed to ensure the audit is completed timely and efficiently.
•Supervise 4 direct reports
•Working with the districts for inventory processing
•Collaborating and interacting with the business to foster effective partnerships
•Driving continuous improvement in accounting operations by assessing current accounting operations and offering recommendations for improvement and implementing new processes.
• 8 years of experience in accounting, reporting, financial analysis
• Ability to travel as required up to 10%
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting / CPA desired
• Proven ability to be a collaborative partner with business groups
• Acquisition and implementation experience a plus
• Supervisory experience
• Must have the desire to thrive in a dynamic environment; able to move quickly with program implementation and maintain focus amid change.
