Accounting Director jobs in Nebraska

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• Oversees the operations of the Accounting Department, which include accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and payroll
• Manages fractional or full-time Accounting Clerk, as applicable

Job Duties:

• Oversee the accounting department, with heavy emphasis on Billing and Collection (Creating invoices from WIP reports, Pursue past due invoices, Take payments from clients, Apply Payments & make deposits)
• Oversee all Accounts Payable (Pay vendors, write & sign checks, Edit and schedule monthly partner draws)
• Back-up for payroll and benefit related questions/ issues
• Monitor employee charges on firm credit cards and bank accounts; Help to Reconcile these accounts monthly
• Maintains a documented system of accounting policies and procedures; implements a system of controls over accounting transactions to minimize risk
• Provides financial analysis, with emphasis on capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations
• Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements
• Perform other job-related duties as needed to help drive our vision, mission, and values
• Reports to CFO and Executive Committee

Skills/Abilities:

• Proficient in software including: Quickbooks Online, Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.)
• Familiar with legal billing practices - Experience with Clio Manage not required but a plus
• Organizational and time management skills a must
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to multi-task on various projects at once, self-starter

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration preferred

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times
