Accounting Clerk performs routine accounting activities such as data entry, maintenance of the general ledger, preparation of various accounting statements and financial reports. Reviews, codes, and verifies transactions including billings, invoices, checks, and journal entries. Being an Accounting Clerk assists in completing moderately complex calculations using spreadsheets and other software tools. Reconciles accounts and bank statements. Additionally, Accounting Clerk has a basic understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Accounting Clerk works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Under general supervision, the Accounting Clerk - Flagship Operations, performs daily accounting tasks that support the financial team. This position is located at the Flagship Campus in West Palm Beach, and reports to the Office of the Chancellor Accounting Department.
BUSINESS CONTRIBUTION:
Accounting Clerk - Flagship Operations is responsible for providing support to the staff at the Flagship campus. The Accounting Clerk - Flagship Operations accomplishes this through:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Reconciles invoices and identifies discrepancies
• Ensures accurate coding and approval on invoices
• Processes vendor invoices, employee expense reports, and check requests
• Answers vendor inquiries
• Maintains up-to-date financial records for expenses
• Assists bursars by answering questions related to cash payments and Anthology Student
• Tracks and reconciles records for student organizations
• Reviews and reconciles vendor statements
• Issues invoices to external partners, as needed
• Assists in month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
Education, Experience, and Training:
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent; two or more years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
