Being an Accounting Clerk assists in completing moderately complex calculations using spreadsheets and other software tools. Reconciles accounts and bank statements. Additionally, Accounting Clerk has a basic understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Accounting Clerk works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. We are seeking an experienced Accounting Clerk to join our team. As an Accounting Clerk, you will be responsible for performing a variety of financial and administrative tasks to support our accounting department. This is a full-time position with competitive pay and benefits.
Responsibilities:
- Knowledge in Excel and very comfortable with computers.
- Knowledge in accounts payable and accounts receivable transaction and collections.
- Prepare and maintain financial records, including invoices, receipts, and bank statements
- Reconcile financial discrepancies by investigating and resolving any discrepancies or errors
- Assist with payroll, including processing timesheets and ensuring accurate calculations
- Support month-end and year-end closing processes
- Maintain vendors, W-9s, Certificates of Liabilities of Insurance, and year end 1099s.
- Maintain confidentiality of financial information and adhere to all company policies and procedures
Skills:
- Strong financial acumen with a solid understanding of financial concepts, debits, credits, and general accounting principles
- Proficiency in using accounting software such as Quickbooks.
- Excellent mathematical skills with the ability to perform accurate calculations
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills to ensure accuracy in financial records
- Previous experience in accounting is a plus
