Accounting Clerk performs routine accounting activities such as data entry, maintenance of the general ledger, preparation of various accounting statements and financial reports. Reviews, codes, and verifies transactions including billings, invoices, checks, and journal entries. Being an Accounting Clerk assists in completing moderately complex calculations using spreadsheets and other software tools. Reconciles accounts and bank statements. Additionally, Accounting Clerk has a basic understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Accounting Clerk works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Job Description:The Accounting Clerk would be responsible to perform general office tasks like organizing and delivering documents, filing reports, updating records and communicating with clients with a focus on financial duties. The ideal candidate would need to be able to multi-task and determine priorities to complete tasks as accurately and efficiently as possible.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Record and report cash payments and receipts daily.
- Monitor the accounts receivable and identify overdue accounts.
- Cooperate with account executives and/or reach out directly to clients to request payments.
- Check for accuracy in reports, figures, and postings.
- Reconcile and report any discrepancies found in the records.
- Update accounts receivable aging report weekly.
- Submit regular updates on the status of unpaid accounts and any repayment progress.
- Assist with new client credit checks and setup.
- Salary range for the position is $40-$50K based on experience level.
