Accounting Clerk performs routine accounting activities such as data entry, maintenance of the general ledger, preparation of various accounting statements and financial reports. Reviews, codes, and verifies transactions including billings, invoices, checks, and journal entries. Being an Accounting Clerk assists in completing moderately complex calculations using spreadsheets and other software tools. Reconciles accounts and bank statements. Additionally, Accounting Clerk has a basic understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Accounting Clerk works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Job Summary for Accounting/Customer Service Clerk : Provide accounting and clerical support to the business.
Responsibilities for Accounting/Customer Service Clerk:
- Properly maintain accounting documents and records
- Reconcile accounts on a timely bases
- Review and process daily accounting transactions
- Review and prepare accounting postings and reports
- Assist with A/R and A/P and invoice payments
- Perform general office duties as assigned including assisting HR and ERP activities
- Assist with customer service orders/phone calls as needed
- 2-3 years accounting or bookkeeping experience
- High school diploma required, additional education preferred
- Familiar with accounting systems and procedures
- Experience with Microsoft applications including Excel
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Aptitude for numbers
- Experience with financial reports and statements
- Global Shop ERP a plus, but not required
