Accounting Clerk performs routine accounting activities such as data entry, maintenance of the general ledger, preparation of various accounting statements and financial reports. Reviews, codes, and verifies transactions including billings, invoices, checks, and journal entries. Being an Accounting Clerk assists in completing moderately complex calculations using spreadsheets and other software tools. Reconciles accounts and bank statements. Additionally, Accounting Clerk has a basic understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Accounting Clerk works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Position: Accounting Clerk
Summary: Works under the direction of the controller to with key accounting functions, including collections, receiving payments, entering vendor receipts, and other accounting responsibilities weekly.
Reports to: Director of Finance
Primary Responsibilities:
1. Collections:
2. Receives checks and credit card payments.
3. Create accurate and timely invoices.
4. Assists Field Operation Managers with Purchase Order requests.
5. Posts payments to the correct accounts. Reaches out to customers as needed for incorrect payment and applies credits as needed.
6. Prepares checks for express deposit. Organizes and files payment stubs accordingly.
7. Match bank transactions using QuickBooks Online.
8. Audits vendor statements against receipts to ensure billing information is correct.
9. Ensures all costs entered in accounting software have been job costed correctly.
10. Assists in payroll entry and processing, invoicing, and vendor statement reconciliation as needed.
11. Assists Direct of Finance with any other accounting or bookkeeping responsibilities as needed.

Job Requirements: Must be able to work approximately 40 hours per week and provide your own transportation to and from the office. Must have careful attention to detail and good organization skills. Must have great communication skills both on the phone and in email. Must be able to type minimum 70 words per minute and have a basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. Basic knowledge of QuickBooks is preferred but not required. Must be able to work quickly and accurately, independently problem-solve, and have good judgement as well as good spelling and grammar. Must be able to work efficiently and effectively in a system and follow assigned procedures.

Education: Associates or Bachelor’s degree preferred. Highschool Diploma, GED, or equivalent are required.
Experience: 1 year in working in, managing, or assisting with collections on delinquent accounts. 1 year basic accounting or bookkeeping responsibilities.
Computer Skills: Proficient in Windows 10, earlier editions and latest editions in Microsoft Office applications; typing speed a minimum 70 wpm, 10-key proficient, and proficient in Microsoft Excel. QuickBooks or other accounting software experience preferred. Proficiency and professionalism on phones a must.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear and frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. The employee must be able to sit and look at a computer screen for long periods of time.
