Anchorage, Soldotna, Wasilla salary: $2,944.80 biweeklyFairbanks salary: $3,032.80 biweeklyJuneau salary: $3,092.00 biweekly What you will be doing: The Department of Environmental Conservation, Division of Administrative services is seeking an energetic, highly motivated individual to serve as the lead accountant in our Federal Grants Section. You will be the accounting lead for all federal programs within the department in matters of federal grant application, award, compliance, reporting and audit, and final approval authority for subrecipient monitoring for the department. The position is the lead audit liaison regarding all federal revenues. This position is responsible for overseeing a team of three accountants that work with all DEC divisions to ensure compliance with all federal rules and regulations in the use of federal funds.Our organization, mission, and culture: The administrative services team is dedicated to providing exceptional customer service and embrace the department's mission of "Conserving, improving, and protecting Alaska's natural resources and environment to enhance the health, safety, and economic and social well-being of Alaskans." Reasoning: Identifies rules, principles, or relationships that explain facts, data, or other information; analyzes information and makes correct inferences or draws accurate conclusions. Technical Competence: Uses knowledge that is acquired through formal training or extensive on-the-job experience to perform one's job; works with, understands, and evaluates technical information related to the job; advises others on technical issues.Equivalent to those typically gained by: Any combination of preparatory post-secondary education and/or progressively responsible professional level experience in accounting, budgeting, or financial management.Special Note: “Competencies” means a combination of interrelated knowledge, skills, abilities, and behaviors that enable a person to act effectively in a job or situation. “Typically gained by” means the prevalent, usual method of gaining the competencies expected for entry into the job. “Training” and “education” in this guidance are synonyms for the process of acquiring knowledge and skills through instruction.
