Summary/Objective

The accountant position is responsible for assisting the finance department in creating accurate and timely financial records for the organization.

Responsibilities

• Completeness and conformance to standards defined within the department.
• Report to the Financial Manager the finances of the organization.
• Review records of accounts and input entries into proper accounts.
• Develop and implement proper keeping of financial records, making use of current technologies.
• Create forms and manuals for accounting and bookkeeping personnel.
• Management of Accounts Receivable, processing cash receipts and the collection process
• Management of Accounts Payable and the payment process
• Analyze, reconcile and balance GL accounts
• Perform month-end close duties, including journal entries, account reconciliations and preparation of supporting documents for financial statements.
• Assistance with and understanding of compliance and reporting
• Work with external auditors
• Report inventory daily cycle counts
• Assist purchasing in Scrap sales reporting
• BOM audit, Inventory audit (inventory cycle count), Scrap audit
• Other projects as assigned
• Product quotation.

Required Education & Experience & Skill

• Bachelor’s in accounting or equivalent experience.

• Strong analytical and organizational skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills required
• Experience in manufacturing and ERP systems
• Proficient in Excel, Access skill is a plus.
• Be detailed, flexible, and organized.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary. This job operates in a clerical, office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
