Accountant maintains financial records and ensures that financial transactions are properly recorded. Ensures the accuracy of entries to ledger accounts and reconciles subsidiary ledger accounts to the general ledger. Being an Accountant compiles financial data to aid more senior accountants in the preparation of balance sheets, profit and loss statements and other financial reports. Assists in analyzing current costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations incurred to predict future revenues and expenses. Additionally, Accountant typically requires a bachelor's degree in accounting or finance. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Accountant work is closely managed. Duties and Responsibilities
Oversees Accounting operations, which include general ledger, payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
Supervises Montana based office staff and conducts performance evaluations.
Implements training for new hires and identifies training opportunities for current staff.
Oversees the system of internal controls over Accounting functions to minimize risk.
Handles discipline of employees as needed and in accordance with company policy.
Ensure accurate and timely posting of customer and vendor transactions
Post bank transactions
Comply and assist in development of accounting policies and procedures.
Identifies and recommends updates to accounting processes and procedures.
Assists in the yearly budget and quarterly forecast processes
Performs financial analysis and investigates discrepancies.
Reconciles bank and other general ledger accounts.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications
Required Skills/Abilities:
Extensive knowledge of accounting standards and reporting.
Excellent management and supervisory skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Experience with accounting and ERP software. (Microsoft Dynamics preferred)
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
Education and Experience:
Associates degree in Accounting or Business Administration required
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration preferred.
CPA, CMA or CFA preferred
Five years or more of related experience required.
