Accountant maintains financial records and ensures that financial transactions are properly recorded. Ensures the accuracy of entries to ledger accounts and reconciles subsidiary ledger accounts to the general ledger. Being an Accountant compiles financial data to aid more senior accountants in the preparation of balance sheets, profit and loss statements and other financial reports. Assists in analyzing current costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations incurred to predict future revenues and expenses. Additionally, Accountant typically requires a bachelor's degree in accounting or finance. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Accountant work is closely managed. Accountant Position
The Accountant is responsible for managing and analyzing the financial operations and performance of the credit union. This role will directly impact strategic decision-making, financial planning, and the long-term success of the organization. It includes working closely with the accounting team and executive leadership to provide insights and recommendations based on financial data. Accounting functions may include assistance in the following areas: ALM, AP, AR, audits, budgets, collections, GL, financial analysis, financial reporting, risk management, investments, payroll, purchasing, taxes, treasury, and vendor management.
The right candidate will successfully collaborate cross-functionally with accounting, lending, operations, and member services to achieve financial goals and enhance operational efficiency. They will actively search for opportunities to improve the financial position of the credit union, reduce financial risk, and detect potential beneficial investments. In addition, the Accountant will analyze and optimize operational costs and make recommendations to improve cost efficiency. Experience in preparing and presenting monthly financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements is necessary.
